Daintree Safaris and Nicholas Fox conduct luxury, four wheel drive day tours from Port Douglas to the oldest rain forest on Earth. We carry a maximum of just six guests per day, travelling exclusively in the comfort of a spacious, late model Toyota 200 series Land Cruiser, featuring individual air conditioning and equal legroom throughout. We’ll cross The Daintree River by cable ferry on our way to the Jindalba board-walks. Enjoy a morning tea of home-made muffins and locally grown tea or freshly ground plunger coffee. See two World Heritage sites meet as the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef touch at Cape Tribulation's beach. Take advantage of a true locals knowledge and enjoy our secret, sparkling swimming hole. Savour frosty, tropical delights at The Daintree Ice Cream Company while you stroll through their beautiful gardens. Then, stop for a photo, at the scenic Alexandra Lookout. Lunch, well sit back relax and dine, a la carte, in any weather at The Daintree Tea House Restaurant. Enjoy a choice of Chicken, Beef, Vegetarian and allergy free meals or perhaps you'd like to try our tropical speciality, Barramundi. All dishes are served with salad, chips, fresh bread and a large array of tropical fruit. Your host will talk you through all the exotic locally grown delicacies as you enjoy your meal. Next we take you to The Daintree River Cruise Centre for a one hour guided wild life spotting cruise on the Daintree River. Perhaps we'll spot one of our giant Saltwater Crocodiles. With World Heritage Accreditation and over twenty year’s local experience, Daintree Safaris knows how to show you the best of our beautiful region in comfort and style.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Daintree. Nicholas was very knowledgable and informative, he made the day really memorable. We weren't lucky enough to see a Cassowary, but did see a wild pig and lots of different birds and wildlife. We swam, in a freshwater creek, which was really cool ( literally! ) Morning Tea and lunch were included in... More

We had a great day. Nick was prompt, attentive, extremely well schooled in the rain forest, local culture and much more. He modified his standard itinerary to give us a second long walk in another part of the Daintree -- we got a great understanding of the Daintree and what is unique about it. Nick's tours include lunch at a... More

What an excellent way to learn about the Daintree and its flora and fauna. Nicholas is just a wiki on legs. No reception no worries Nicholas will know it 😁. The spots that Nicholas took us to were breathtaking, from the walks to the beaches and swimming hole. Lunch was just as good, his knowledge on the local tropical fruits... More

Nick was great and extremely informative, Showed us and took us to some great places, not only dropping us off to places like the icecream and river tours but also giving us a good introduction as to what to expect. If you want to stare out the window of a bus not knowing what to look for or look at... More

Had a thoroughly enjoyable day looking for the Cassowary. I did see two eventually at the Australia Zoo. I loved the rainforest area and Nicholas our Guide was excellent and very informative. He really knew his stuff. Gave a real life view of the fauna and wildlife and their dangers within the rainforest and glades. It was very interesting. My... More

Nicholas gave us an incredibly informative guide to the rainforest - his knowledge of the rainforest is truly astounding. We did find, however, that a large proportion of the tour was sat in the car rather than actually walking - I guess that's simply the nature of the rainforest area. Also, though Nick did provide great information, we did find... More

Very educational, thorough, well-organized tour. Nicholas was able to show us many wildlife animals in their natural environment. Really cool! Great tour for kids too! We had a great time. Also had an excellent gourmet lunch.Nicholas really knows his nature, animals/wildlife, and rainforest information adequately.
