This is a great collection of railway memorabilia from old and not so old times. The volunteers have done and immense job preserving and displaying all items big and small. Just ask a question and they are more than happy to give you heaps of really interesting information.

You don't need to be a train enthusiast to enjoy this place. To see how train travel was yesteryear this is the place to go. The motion sensor activated audio interaction around the various static displays is well done. The volunteers have done a great job maintaining this museum.

Great museum to see the old trains and carriages and how they use to travel. Spoke to one of the volunteers lovely gentleman with such pride and knowledge. Well worth the look and hope to go back in years to come and see some of the older wagons and trains as they restore them. We all enjoyed looking through.

As you walk through the heritage station entrance, you know this is special. Life-size models in groups on the platform with recorded conversations portray life in the days of train travel. The immaculate dining room set for customers invites you in with the piano playing and photos of tea-room staff from the past. Sleeper carriages you can walk through, engines... More

This is a great spot to see some old rail heritage and have a ride on a steam tram. A lot of work put into the displays and the volunteer staff are very friendly.

A Heritage Building with a small museum. If you visit on the right day you can have a ride on the Purrey Steam Train...a rare opportunity to have a vintage experience.

This is a great place to visit if you are into trains. With the only operating Purrey Steam Tram you can enjoy a ride on it on certain days. Run by volunteers you will love their knowledge of all things trains around Rockhampton.

A great time was had exploring the trains, carriages and memorabilia on display. We were lucky enough to attend on a day that the Purrey Steam Tram was running and went on a short ride. The volunteers were welcoming and friendly. Having a cup of tea in the quaint tea rooms was a lovely way to complete the visit. I... More
