our kids love this place, they just dont want to leave and i love having a coffee in the air con looking out at the marina

Manned by volunteers, this museum gives a good insight into the region's past. It's a pity that it's hidden behind the ambulance centre, and a little hard to find. Even the GPS was a little confused.

This small but fun filled, very interesting Historical Museum is definitely worth the visit. The informative volunteers who run this centre are just wonderful and were so patient and thoroughly entertaining to our group of Homeschool children and parents. See Townsville's Flinders Street East as it used to be in detailed miniature models, study what life was like before electricity,... More

I love history and looking at old photos etc. If your looking for something different to do and have never been - its worth going into and seeing the historical remnants of this beautiful town :)

This review is about the museum in Flinders St Townsville and not the Townsville Historical Society & Museum at Currajong. The Townsville Historical Society and Museum has very interesting articles displayed covering items used from the old days such carpenters tools, radios, photographs of bygone times, cyclones that hit Townsville etc. Well worth a visit. It's been a while since I went, but there were no reviews so I thought I'd contribute. The museum is right next to Reef HQ and the IMAX theatre, so if you have time left after those 2, come to the museum.
