Nestled in the suburbs of Townsville is a beautiful peaceful garden. You can drive around the loop road in a few minutes or you can park in one of the parking areas and enjoy the peace. We got out and had a stroll around the lotus ponds and then relaxed on the grass under a shady tree, so peaceful and... More

Not a huge garden but beautifully maintained and lovely for walking or simply sit on a bench under the shade of a tree and enjoy the plants, quiet relaxing atmosphere. Our grandsons enjoyed the outing and the opportunity to use up some energy in the shaded areas. Townsville is pretty hot so finding outdoor activities where cooler shaded areas are... More

A large park with plants from around the world, a beautiful place to explore. Although there weren't any walking tracks or too many flowers at this of the year, it was still a great place to visit and picnic

Compared to the other Botanical Gardens we visited on our two month tour of Australia this was a bit disappointing. Its great for local people to walk, relax and exercise in but for garden lovers the planting is limited and unspectacular.

Really great place to lay under a shady tree, relax and zone out from the noise of the urban. Great range of native plant species. You can feed the ducks too!

We visited the Townsville Botanic Gardens earlier this month during our drive around Australia. It was a great place to spend an hour or so looking at the flora and feeding the birds in the pond. There were a few mosquitoes around too so we were glad we brought our repellant so we could enjoy the gardens.

OK, I am am keen gardener and love North Queensland trees. Anderson Park was the place to see them. A really helpful gardener helped me out to find some of the trees I was keen to see. Nice place for a walk once you want a change from the Strand.

Lovely relaxing tropical gardens with plenty of shaded, secluded areas. Has a small children's playground.
