Looked everywhere for things to do in town, everything advertised as open but on arrival “closed for the season”. Would be great if visiting details could be updated on websites and Facebook pages. It’s 42 degrees and driving between attractions with kids is hard enough.

Well set out, with plenty of interesting information and displays. A true insight into what daily life was like for these pioneers of the outback. Worth the entry fee.

Right next to Comfort Inn where we stayed and was recommended by them as well. Having teenagers and younger is it easy to keep them interested but this “Old Miners Mine” certainly kept them interested. We thought it was fascinating!

Potential. Lovely young woman to help with the history of opal and opal miners with a good lot of pioneer women to bolster the gemstone passion.

Our entire family enjoyed the history of opal mining and the stories of those who pursued their fortunes. Great value for money with the mine, underground house and museum all in one location.
