This was my favourite church in Coober Pedy due to its simple and unassuming character. We spoke to the kind pastor who explained the history behind the church beginnings.

This is a genuinely free activity and it's a nice touch. It has windows to the outside on one side . But worth a visit

Looks like a cave dug out by the happy clappy brigade. Horrid plastic chairs inside do nothing for the ambience.

We walked in the door on a Monday and were met by the priest. He was delighted to point out some of the features and even some of the best ways to take the photos. Has a lovely atmosphere and seems still well used,

When I decide to visit a place, it isn't to read the description on the wall or take pictures but it is to grasp the atmosphere of the place by encountering the locals and sharing with them. Val welcomed us warmly in the catacomb church...More

Can you please advice trip advisor to address the issue of confusion of this church with St Pauls catholic church, many people are writing reviews of that church on this page. Thank you

The Catacomb Church is quite separate from the St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Coober Pedy. The Catacomb Church Anglican (i.e. Church of England)

Dear Glen J, I think you have mixed the Catacomb Church with another church. We only ask for shoes to be taken off if there's been rain recently. There's been no significant rain for some months! But thanks for visiting. Geoff Piggott, Catacomb Church Minister
