Had a great trip with Ausjet on their DC3 The return trip included bus tour of the island and a delicious buffet lunch at The Boomerang hotel, complete with panoramic views Annie was a fabulous hostess for the day, and our pilots very capable. The plane was more comfortable than economy on a commercial trip We were blessed with perfect... More

We went for the day with a large birthday group (28 in total) and it could not have been better. Very well organised by Shortstop, and the Gooney Bird flight was a unique experience. Lunch was at Boomerang, which was a very nice setting with the fare concentrating on local produce. A short trip around Currie followed, and Shortstop arranged... More

They took thousands of dollars of our money and cancelled our King Island trip 4 months later. If it was because of bad weather I would understand, but staffing issues?! I emailed the company director and got nothing back. A very unprofessional company in my opinion.

So many people have never visited, or even know what King Island offers. I was once, (or that became many times) a visitor here. I loved this place, and the residents, so much so that I decided to move over here. King Island is a remote Island situated at 40 degrees south latitude, halfway between mainland Australia and Tasmania. Both... More

This weird place is actually just a beach shack filled up with all sorts of old stuff, like dining room equipment, crockery, cutlery, old record players and books and games. Lots of kelp sculptures and local artwork. You just turn up with your own food, give a donation towards the gas on the bar-b-que and cook up your own feast.... More

A visit prompted by the great cheeses! No ferries, flights only. Maybe this will change now a magnificent new golf course has been completed . It was not easy to book myself a trip and accommodation. After considerable googling and frustrating research, I was rescued by King Island Pleasure tours by the wonderful Bev Kenney, She organised a great driver... More

Lovely relaxing long weekend. Visited many of the beaches at all points of the island. Check out the book- walks of King island foe details of walking tracks. Lunch at cape Wickham golf club was a highlight - absolutely stunning views. Best coffee and lunch was at Bishoffs cafe in Bishoff's road about 8 min east of Currie. Catering is... More

I visit friend on King Island every year. It is a great holiday destination - low key but interesting. There are many places to go and people to visit. Everyone is very friendly. It is like turning back the clock to a simpler and more community oriented existence. Each time I see things I've never seen before.. there is a... More

This is a wonderful, get away from it all holiday destination! There is enough to see and do to keep you busy, or a great place to just relax with a picnic at the beach or a cuppa and snack in one of the cafes. Self contained cottages at Naracoopa, Grassy and Currie and hotel or motel rooms in Currie... More

No wonder the Cows are relaxed. Pure Sea Air, no rush to do anything, still not totally cut-off from the rest of the world but enough. Nothing like fresh cheese, crayfish & scallop pies, beautiful scenery and the off road adventures and watching the Harbour activities. Make sure you wave to the Locals as you drive around.
