I am from country Victoria and have been to Melbourne many times. This time however I bought the bike ride for my English husband so that we could really have a good look around. It was fantastic. We were shown the small alley ways, graffiti art and some of the iconic places around Melbourne. We stopped for a coffee in... More

We had a wonderfull bike trip with Geoff. He showed us Melbourne in quite a diversity: history stories and buildings; sports; streetart, also the little streets that were not in the lonely planet. We wanted to visit Victoria market, so he made a detour to show us the market; and new buildings with their own story. Lovely and sportive!!! If... More

I startet my time in Melbourne with this tour. Rick was a super guide. We've seen a lot from Melbourne. It gives you an idea what to do or what to visit. Rick has taken many photos of us and emailed them the next day. I would do it again!

We have just returned to UK after a 7 week trip in NZ and Aus. The most memorable event of which was our Melbourne By Bike tour. It was our second tour with Michelle and was just as good as our first 3 years ago. Her enthusiasam and energy is truly infectious whilst her knowledge of local history, culture and... More

I did this tour on my first day in Melbourne, and it was such a good choice. Michelle is warm and friendly, super knowledgable and passionate about her home town and her enthusiasm is contagious! Starting in Federation Square we followed a cycle trail through to Port Melbourne & collected the rest of our group of five. I loved the... More

I honestly don't think you could get a better experience anywhere else. This tour is unique in that it not only covers the major interests of Melbourne - and often with a unique twist or story - but also unearths some amazing little gems that even the locals don't know are there! Michelle clearly puts her heart and soul into... More

A fantastic way to explore beautiful Melbourne. Geoff, our energetic and very knowledgeable guide, showed me nooks and crannies of the city and surroundings I'd never been to - and I've lived here for 25 years! We cruised around and got the best views of the city, learned about the history and architecture, discovered great places to eat and drink,... More

I cant speak highly enough for this tour and the day I had with Jeff and the team. I live in Melbourne and did this tour with a couple of friends visiting from interstate. I had no idea how much Melbourne has to over, and was consistently blown away by the history and 'hidden gems' shown to us during the... More

I was roped into a bike tour with a friend visiting from overseas being born and raised in Melbourne didn't think I'd learn much new about the city from this tour but boy was I wrong! Geoff was a fantastic tour guide possibility one of the best I've come across, he showed us places that conventional tours would not take... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
