Place is ok, drinks are ok food is ok, view is not bad. But the whole place has nothing that is special or makes it stand out. Overall it's just another place to go, or not to

I have been here a couple of times in the past few months. Once on a Thursday night and once on a Friday night. On both occasions the music was OK but not particularly memorable. The crowds tend to be pretentious and the balcony is the key congregation point. In fact, the balcony with its good views of the CBD... More

Having lived in Melbourne previously for a couple of years, I returned to Blue Diamond for another night out. The location is amazing with the best view of the Melbourne skyline, a great balcony to enjoy a cigar, a fantastic bar selection and the refurb since I was last here looks great. Save it for a Friday or Saturday night... More

Nicely presented staff and bar. Amazing view (level 15) but the service for me was very average with the exception of the hostess who seemed busy but actually helpful. First visit we arrived at 5pm and the gates were locked (sign says open at 4). Even though the sign says to book your function (and it's the polite thing to... More

This is such an amazing place... Not only are the views in themselves amazing but the music, that exclusive atmosphere and the wonderful host of the night really made the night so so special! We also had our own private booth which was made up of luxurious leather couches & everyone felt like a million bucks with a cigar in... More

Reviews and photos appears enticing however decor looked like a cheap '80s joint. Discovered if you don't book ahead is $15 per head cover charge. Better value can be found else where. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

We stopped here twice - the views are amazing, but it was very quiet. We had a couple of beers and watch the sunset, then returned later in the evening for a nightcap. Great spot to stop in. But this is a bar, not really an attraction - Trip Advisor probably needs to update the listing.

It is a great place to be, especially on Saturday night. There is a Jazz Band playing till midnight and a DJ afterwords. The place is really busy, the atmosphere very friendly. The bartenders are very helpful and knowledgeable. You can also book a private function. I love fantastic view of Melbourne's skyline!

Had the pleasure of having my 50th birthday party at this venue...what a marvellous choice it was. One has the choice of 3 different areas within to choose from with fantastic views of Melbourne's city skyline. They serve delicious finger food platters, play great music with live bands on certain nights. The decor is early 1900's style which really sets... More

We attended a surprise wedding at Blue Diamond. Friends had recommended it as a great place for music and dancing, and that's just what happened. Exquisite finger food was accompanied by lots of the real French bubbly, resulting in a sensational party. Staff were attentive and efficient with a large crowd. Warm night meant that enjoying the atmosphere outside was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
