Slept in tent ate in the old elephant barn. Played zoo survival and went around the zoo at night. The next day after a yummy breakfast had the day to check out the zoo in daylight hours. A fun informative experience

We love the Melbourne zoo. My kids are teens but still enjoy going as it changes frequently. Went recently in school holidays and it was crazy! Lines everywhere - try to repurchase your tickets on line to avoid lining up. We always take our own lunch to avoid the prices and their are heaps of lawns to sit and watch... More

Its a great day out for any family and kids get in for free on the weekend which is absolutely fantastic, its gone down hill a bit and is not as good as what is was back in the day, unfortunately its going under renovations so a lot of the animals aren't out and about which was a little disappointing.... What a superb animal park - clean, very accessible exhibits, mostly "natural" environments and, if I suppress my angst about caged "wild-life" a relaxing and enjoyable walk around. We were a camera club group on a photography assignment. Progress was slow, the Orangutans holding most of us up for almost an hour, waiting for a "unique" shot. I only made... More

Great day out with family and friends no matter how old you are. Kids loved the monkeys tigers lions and the whole zoo. Will be visiting Werrebii zoo next even though we have been many times kids enjoy the safari rides

Melbourne Royal Zoo has a good variety of exhibits, it is a full day visit attraction as there are more than 320 species housed on 22 ha site. There is plenty to eat and drink on site. An excellent day out for the whole family!

My 2 year old granddaughter lives very close to the zoo, so it is a frequent destination for us. Every time we visit we are impressed with the constant updates. So much to enjoy watching the elephants being washed is thoroughly enjoyed by all ages. The lemur walk through is great, just make sure your toddler is not holding any... More

I visited it on a rainy Friday, but it's still good. There are many animals and the introduction of them are easy-to-understand.

Great place for anyone. The Orangutang and Elephants are my favourite. You can take your own food and drink or buy there. If you go in the school holidays or weekends, go early so you can get a park.

We have been there 3 times and my kids (a 3.5yo girl and a 1.5 yo boy) still love it. They love to see the seal, elephant and penguine show. There are playgrounds, picnic areas and even microwave in parent room. It is quite hard to find a parking place at weekends.
