With over 8000 species and 50000 plants, there is something here for everyone. Pick up a seasonal guide at one of the entry gates. Park is open until sunset, so a lovely end of a day activity. Here are also various shows and productions on the park lawns during summer. The park is a welcome respite from the summer heat.... More

My son and I walked through here on our way to the shrine. The garden was absolutely beautiful and clean. Also there was a lot of signage so that we could find the different areas of the garden.

I like too enter from either St Kilda Rd (via domain gardens after taking numerous trams from flinders station) or from alexandra ave on the yarra. The gardens have so many great things too see including; National Herbarium, the ornamental lake, the fern gully etc. fantastic spot too have a picnic

A nice oasis in the city. Many beautiful trees and tranquil places. It is worth to arrange a half day trip while in Melborne. A convenient location to get by metro & has several attractions closeby, such as Shrine of Remembrance and AAMI park.

The Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne is truly an oasis in the middle of Melbourne. It is a great place to unwind and relax while having a picnic and looking at all the amazing flora. A must see for locals and tourists alike. Toilets are sometimes hard to find. Signage can be a bit misleading so read the signs carefully.... More

Went to the garden last Sunday. I arrived after noon time so it's a but sunny and hot but it's not too bad if you walked under the shade. After wandered around for about 30 minutes we stopped at the garden restaurant, had a cup of coffee and scones. It's so nice to just sit in front of the lake,... More

I spent the afternoon strolling around the gardens. The are lots of nice areas with shade which was great as I went with a baby and we wanted to keep out of the sun.

We enjoyed a quiet wander through these gardens recently on a hot Melbourne day. I loved the huge trees and different trees from all over the world. The shade was also a welcome escape. Parking can sometimes be tricky especially if there is something on at the MCG - beware of that !

Lovely place to walk. Always finding new hidden corners. Very green and cool place to be on a hot day. Parking can be an issue on weekends and sunny days.
