We had a very pleasant two-hour walk.We learned about a lot of new (to us) trees from their nameplates. The day was cool and drizzling on and off, so we made good use of the various shelters along the way, which all have different themes. And the terrace cafe was an excellent place to warm up and have tea and... More

What a fantastic place to spend a day, walking through acres & acres of greenery, superbly maintained as to be expected of a Royal Botanic Gardens! Located right next to the CBD, this must be is one of Melbourne's most accessible parks. It's also right next to the War Memorial, which is another place worth visiting, as we did. Wonderful... A fine walk in the morning or even the evening as the paths are all well lite up till about 11pm. It is just over 3.6km around the entire perimeter and on weekend it is a bit of a competition with walkers, runners, pets and prams. Highly recommended adn very enjoyable. Walking through the gardens is extremely enjoyable and entertaining... More

Nice gardens but a bit of a distance in between key sites, wear comfy shoes! The restaurant has lots of room and the grounds are lovely and well looked after.

The gardens are lovely and green with flowering shrubs and colorful flowers creating an appealing design of plantings. We noticed that many of the trees had broad swaths of metal or metal-like material wrapped around their trunks. One of the gardeners told us that certain kinds of trees are loved by possums, who come out at dusk and in the... More

I'd like to write about an accommodation we booked in Echuca/Moama in Vic.Aus. "Madison Spa Hotel". At arrival everything was perfect, nice quiet place with large rooms, lovely decorations , perfectly revamped. We picked a room with a spa bath...which we didn't use. Hotel had Spa centre, that was the reason we picked this hotel. First day we got to... More

This is a beautiful park with well landscaped walks and various species of plants. Interesting to see a rainforest, lotus pond and cactus garden next to each other right in the heart of Melbourne. There are lots of informative signs about the plants and flowers for the interested ones. A nice walk around takes you down to the lake and... More

The royal botanic garden is very nice. We had a nice and relaxing walk before catching our plane and fly back home to Europe. A pity the flowers were almost all gone because of the season.

This is my go-to place in Melbourne when I want to escape the busy parts of life. It's like another world right nearby. Quiet, pretty, relaxing and there is always something new to discover.
