Well worth a visit. I wanted to walk to the Cathedral, but the tourism office considered it very far way from Flinders street station. However, I eventually walked around the CBD and found myself only three blocks away from the Cathedral. The CBD is quite interesting and you can walk and hardly notice the distance. I waited a few minutes... More

Its located right behind the Parliament Building. We did not go outside but enjoyed the architecture from outside.

It is where my husband asked me to marry him, and so extra special for us. A beautiful place to be reflective about Jesus Christ.

Amazing architecture. Went for early morning Mass whist visiting Melbourne. You experience a feeling of awe upon entering the Cathedral. Rivals those of Europe.

We managed to be invited to a Wedding at St. Patricks Cathedral. It was stunning. A long aisle for the Bride to walk up and it was magnificent. The altar was beautiful.

As a service was taking place, we used the discrete side entrance to slip in and enjoy some of the service (as they weren't allowing people through the main entrance during the service). A beautiful and gothic church, the largest I have seen in Australia, feels overwhelming and intimate at the same time.

The church was beautiful though simple. Inside, you can find different alters and a brief explanation. The church is still used today for mass.

This. Was our first stop upon arriving in Melbourne, the staff was friendly and helpful. It is a must, as they are a wealth of information.

Thank Pastein
