Melbourne’s iconic Princess Theatre is regarded by many as Melbourne’s most spectacular landmark. Dating back as far as 1854, the theatre was purchased by Marriner Theatres in 1986 and plans were immediately put in place for its total refurbishment to ensure its future viability as a live theatre venue. The Princess Theatre reopened in 1989 with the musical ‘Les Miserables’ followed by ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ which established a new record for the longest-running show ever staged in Victoria. Today, it continues to host some of the world’s most renowned theatre productions.

What a fantastic show, with energetic cast and great music for ABBA fans and music lovers alike. We had great seats sitting in row E seat 19-21. It's a great theatre but accessing the toilets is horrendous.

We recently visited The Princess Theatre to see Mamma Mia. The theatre is old and beautiful and the service here was exceptional. We selected the Grand Circle seating so we could see the whole stage so we didn't miss anything. The seats were very comfortable...More

We have attended several shows at this venue including Dirty Dancing, Mumma Mia and Matilda. Wonderful venue with an old fashioned intimate feel.

Saw Mama Mia at the Princess (the show was so much fun, but I'll save this review For the theatre itself). There is very little leg room, which makes squeezing passed seated patrons very awkward. I saw behind the column, and while the view is...More

What a wonderful evening. The staff were friendly and helpful and courteous. The venue was extremely warm - which caused me to almost fall asleep but it was gorgeous and easily accessible. Thank you very much

I can recommend City Limits, it's in lane way next to theatre, it would be only 100meters away, and plenty of eating places close by too, hope this helps you.

Hello, I prefer seats upstairs in the dress circle as I am short and stall seats tend to not be tiered - just my preference really.
