Description:

Port Campbell National Park is world famous for its extraordinary...

Port Campbell National Park is world famous for its extraordinary collection of wave-sculpted rock formations and the Twelve Apostles. Loch Ard Gorge, site of the 19th century shipwreck 'Loch Ard', as well as the Island Archway and London Bridge are other highlights. The Island Archway collapsed in 2009, highlighting the fragile and ever-changing nature of Victoria's coastline. Start your visit by heading to the Twelve Apostles Kiosk and Carpark before taking the walk to view the amazing Twelve Apostles coastline. The site offers kiosk, information, shelter and toilets. Walk the short distance (500m) through a tunnel under the Great Ocean Road to various lookouts offering expansive, breathtaking views. From the Twelve Apostles carpark there is also an easy 2.2km return walk to Gibson Steps Lookout. The lookout is above the beach with excellent views East and West. Port Campbell National Park lies between Princetown and Peterborough, 285 km west of Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road (4-5 hours drive), and 240 km from Melbourne via Colac.

Always was wowed by seeing these pictures. In real life the site was amazing. A wonder of nature took thousands of years to carve out. Sad a few have crumbled down to dust. But the sheer force of nature, the waters cutting into the rocks and creating these amazing formations remains etched in memory

It is a bit of a hike to get tot he Great Ocean Road from Melbourne, but well worth the trip.... we took a bus tour and got great pics on a beautiful sunny day of the sandstone cliffs and 'apostles' along the shoreline. Beautiful spot.

I went to Australia in January and had only 4 weeks to do most of the East Coast so time was really tight. I did my research and found a train + bus package to visit the Great Ocean Road, you can find out more on the VLine website. I think it cost around $75, I took a morning train... More

We booked a tour with AAT Tours that was wonderful! It was a large bus with a restroom on board. There were many stops and although this is probably better as a two day tour, we were short on time and wanted to see as much as possible. The apostles are beautiful and well worth the trip.

We took the tour with 12 Apostles Helicopters. I surprised my wife for her birthday. The flight was booked via their website well in advance. I chose the Bay of Island flight which was meant to run for approximately 25 minutes. At the Great Ocean Road visitor center it was very busy. We let them know we had pre-booked and... More

My wife and I have always wanted to visit the Twelve Apostles before they get washed into the ocean more and more. We finally got there in April 2017 and it's a dream come true! The sandstone formations were like the photos I have seen and like in the movies! I have to remind myself that we are finally there!... More
