I used this jogging track around the Royal Botanic Gardens for my morning runs when on a business trip to Melbourne. It is amazing how many other runners are up at 5h30 AM to exercise, which makes this an excellent run even for those from out of town.

Melbourne's equivalent to enjoy & indulge. The tranquillity of our running track located at the botanical gardens gives our body & mind the rest & recharge it craves before, during or after a manic day. Lots of friendly faces & avid exercisers.. Love it!

It is a great running track but also good for a stroll along the Yarra River and some of the interesting sights such as the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Kings Domain, Botanical gardens and others.A great asset for Melbourne.

Ran here solo on Christmas Eve on a family trip to Melbourne at 6am. The track is gravel and 3.8km right around the Botanic Gardens. There are two timing towers in case you didn't bring your Garmin, and the track is really wide and clean. There is a significant hill climb that does take it out of you a bit,... More

Passing some of Melbourne's treasures like the shrine of remembrance, Sidney Myer music bowl and the Yarra river, the tan track provides a way to move you feet and physically take in some Melbourne beauty. Only 5min tram ride from the CBD, it is the perfect way to get away from the craziness of the city.

The Tan is a track around the Botanic Gardens, close to central Melbourne. It's 3.8 kms (around two and a half miles) long. The Tan is a favourite with runners and walkers at any time of day, but especially in the morning. It has a good surface for running..

Wish I had this where I lived. A great track, not too long so if you are a 5k hero or a marathon jedi, this track is great for a training run. Beautifully set around a parkland, the track offers a nice run or walk. Lots of people walking around it enjoying the sun, even in winter. I can't wait... More

I found this walk by accident, and it was lovely. It's not well sign posted to get to it, and it seems to only be a local thing. Highly recommend the walk (it turns out to be aroound 3 kms). So bring the kids and the family, as you can stop at the Botanic Gardens on your way. Parking is... More

"Doing the Tan" is very trendy. Runners get up early to "do the Tan," which is the track circumnavigating the Royal Botanic Garden and the King's Domain. The track is 3.8 kms long. You can run, walk or crawl, not one minds. "Doing the Tan" is a good way to meet other like minded people.
