An interesting place to visit. You have to book a tour in advance, but it is well worth it. Interesting tour and even better if you can combine it with a tour of Latrobe's Cottage.

Government house is nice to see, and the architecture is old. It's not as dynamic as some other places I've seen. It's also awkward to get to on public transport and for parking.

I attended an event at Government House recently and it was just amazing. Both the inside and outside of the building are beautiful and there is so much to look at. The courtyard is lovely with the water feature. The event itself was great, they...More

The residence of the Governor of Victoria is not open to the public unless you take a tour but the building itself is worth seeing from the gardens.

Unfortunately no tours on the day we were there, and we weren't able to get close enough to truly appreciate this spectacular Government House. What we did manage to see of the beautiful building was enough to make us want to get there during an...More

Government House is not far from the centre of Melbourne, near the Shrine of Remembrance. Government House is open for inspection regularly. It is a fine example of Victorian craftsman ship. Tours of Government House, combined with Latrobe's Cottage, are held twice a week. It...More

It was tiring standing in the queue for an hour. We almost gave up but I'm glad we didn't. It was a thrill to wander around this wonderful piece of British grandeur - albeit a fairly limited tour. The major features being the grand ballroom...More
