Whilst I am not a regular user of this service there are times I have used this service recently if there is maintenance work done on our line and where buses replace trains. I refuse to use the slower, unreliable and crowded buses.
We have used the Vline service from Wodonga to Melbourne return. The service was on time with bo disruption. The buffet car is very basic but ok. The only I can't comment on is bathroom facilities as I refuse to use them. Staff friendly while...More
This is a fantastic service however it is always a bit apprehensive until you get to the station at Albury and actually see a train waiting and that you do not have to travel by bus. That is really annoying to purchase a first class...More
On Sunday 5th August 2018 they cancelled the train from Bairnsdale to Southern Cross so I had to go by Bus from Merimbula to Southern Cross, which was an inconvenience because I found it hard to go up and down the step since I have...More

Peter has answered it fairly well but Philip island you can get to by V Line bus but have to stay overnight as can't come back the same day. Anyway you would need to stay the night as the penguins do not come out until late. Sovereign Hill in the best to get to as train to Ballarat and they have a bus from the station. Ring up the PTV and they will tell the details. It is a free 1800 number.
