As i was headed to Kununurra, i decided to make a little detour to visit Argyle lake. It's quite nice and big! There's a lot of lookout, and if you drive as fare you can, you ended up in an "Oasis" which is really green!

Huge expanse of water, boating operates under open-water rules. Fascinating to see the dam wall and the old Argyle Homestead. Scenery in every direction is spectacular.

There are breath-taking views at every turn! From the lookout you can catch the sunsets over Lake Argyle or overlook the Lake Argyle Dam Wall. Driving over the dam wall is interesting in itself and the park area at the bottom is great for picnics or fishing. While visiting Lake Argyle make sure you visit Durack Homestead Museum. A very... We took the sunset cruise out of the resort and it was fantastic value. Interesting and witty commentary and wonderful scenery. The boat was comfortable and spacious and was equipped with a clean toilet. We stopped for swimming which was great fun and drinks and food was served. The servings were generous and a lovely party atmosphere prevailed as the... More

Lake Argyle has beautiful scenery and is an immense lake in the middle of nowhere. The bare hills and islands that stick out the blue eater that stretches for kilometers is something else again. You really need to take a boat tour to get the full significance.

Something that's a must, is the Wilderness Safari with Kiwi Josh. A fabulous young man. We had some Bush Tucker visited the Durack Homestead, along with Roy's Retreat. This place we would never have known existed, but for this tour. Our Hostess the late Roy's wife Barbara and what an outback character she is. Aboriginal paintings again not sign posted,... More
