I was fortunate to visit the Sacred Heart Church in Beagle Bay while on a Kimberley Wild Adventures day tour out of Broome, and was not disappointed. We spent just over half an hour here, plenty of time to wander and appreciate the gorgeous church. The handy work that has gone in to building the Church by the local indigenous... More

We visited Beagle Bay, primarily to visit this church. We weren't disappointed. It's a beautiful little place, quite unlike any other church I've been into. Was a really hot day, but inside here was cool and calm. Decorated with local shells all over. Well worth the visit.

I visited as part of a full day tour of the area & was very surprised to come across this beautiful little church. Even more surprised once I saw the Mother of Pearl alter. Absolutely stunning. Worth a 90min drive from Broom (4WD)

Beautiful little church to visit and catch a glimpse of the aboriginal village / community that seems a very happy and well run place.

It was such different experience to stop in a remote and desolate community and see such beautiful church with an interesting history.

We took the Horizontal Falls trip so on the way out to Cape Leveque Beagle Bay Community is a stop for pre breakfast. The entire community is well ordered but the church is incredible. It was mostly built by WW2 German missionary and other internees. The decorations are most locally sourced Mother of Pearl these are brilliant.

Beautiful Catholic church in Beagle Bay on the Dampier Peninsula. The interior has ornate shells throughout.
