Have never been here before but decided to go on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A fascinating little piece of history right on my doorstep. The cottage is just that, a small dwelling but with plenty of interest to be found inside. Informative writings, original items on display and the house still set up as it was years back. Beautiful garden... More

Enjoyed walking through this historical cottage but found the volunteer had trouble stepping back and allowing visitors to enjoy the atmosphere/rooms. Rooms are very small (as expected) and certainly not the grand type of Highwic or Alberton but great to see all the same. Ewelme Cottage is rumored to house a few ghosts but our visit was uneventful on that... More

What a lovely cottage which is brimming with the history, furniture & stories of its original owners. It was built by a clergyman & his family who wanted to live in the countryside, surrounded by fields but now surrounded by suburbia. Nice gardens & friendly staff.

Came here on a trip to NZ from near the original Ewelme in Oxfordshire, UK. Unfortunately my Rough Guide was out of date so the place was closed & not open on any days when I was back in the City. Blast! Marked as three stars for the exterior which was very pretty.

This NZ Historic Places Trust cottage is a beautifuly preserved colonial era house, with some lovely collections. It is located in Parnell and is walking distance from the Auckland Museum, and easy to get to from the bright green Link bus route through Parnell. Great for anyone interested in our colonial past, young or old.
