Pleasant walking on the marked route, from Onehunga to the Viaduct (or reverse direction). About half on footpaths and half through parks including over two volcanos. Plenty of food and drink options along the way, but toilets are harder to find.

We started the walk from Onehunga station. The starting point was quite easy to find from there (turn left up Princes St and walk to the park; about half a mile). When you see the skate park you know you’re there. The train was great,...More

We enjoyed this walk. It was quite strenuous at times but worth the effort. Some great views of the city. A good opportunity to see different neighbourhoods and landscapes.

The Coast to Coast is a great way to see many parts of Auckland, including One Tree Hill and Mt Eden, which both offer super views. The walk is lengthy and hilly, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed. None of the visitor centres...More

A great urban walk covering everything from the quay, CBD, Mt Eden, One Tree Hill, the uni and some really nice sections of suburbia. A hard walk with plenty of hills, but worth the effort. Public transport at both ends, cafes along the way etc...More

No, you don't need to book. It is something you can do on your own, as it is a walk across the city and some parks. However, try to find a decent map, as the signs are lacking and you can add a lot of mileage if you get... More
