An absolutely free and marvelous way to explore Auckland. A vigorous walk with urban scenery, volcano hikes, monuments, parks and seaside. What's not to like? Bring a well charged phone or map in case you need to orient yourself to find the trail.

A great way to view Auckland and to get fit at the same time. More healthy than a Hop on a Bus Experience! No need to rush - enjoy!

16 km in 4 hours...well it took us way longer, but only because the viewing points were soooo amazing, that we had no other option than to take at least 100 photos. So if you wanna see a little bit more of Auckland than just downtown, this tour is definitely the right way for you. And the sunset on the... More

I visit family every year from the UK, and have now done this walk about four times in each direction. I would agree about the signs (I am just back from today's walk and still went wrong once), so a map is a must for the first time. The views are stunning, and the whole walk takes four hours, or... What a great walk! The only complaint I have is there are a few places where the signage could be better.

We spent the day doing this walk on a sunny Sunday. It was a bit tougher than expected for going through a city, due to the few summits. We got lost a few times too as the signs seem to switch between the sides of the road and can be quite subtle. Not sure if I'd recommend this walk other... More

Excellent way to see the city, get your bearings, and visit 3 excellent Auckland parks. The trail leads through the Auckland Domain which has historic buildings, statues, art, a fernery, the Wintergarten, and the Auckland Museum. It leads you to the top of Mt Eden which has panoramic views and a volcanic crater. It leads through Cornwall Park which has... More

Overall a good walk but it rained most of the time my family was on the walk. We got lost a few times so I recommend bringing a printed map of the route. The coast to coast walkway is a great place to see the city of Auckland.

I'm a life-long Auckland resident and this was the first time I'd attempted walking the Coast-to-Coast walkway. We decided to take some of the advice on Trip Advisor and take the suburban train out to Onehunga and walk back into the city. I also took on board people's feedback that in places the signage wasn't the best so printed out... More

This is no easy 10 mile walk. There are ups and downs, some confusion as to where the trail actually is, and you can easily get caught in one of Auckland's surprise rain showers. That being said, there are some really amazing views, parks, and trees you'll see on this trek. Mount Eden and One Tree Hill are active volcanoes... More
