Referenced in a U2 song I had to go. Rode my bicycle to the top (steep but short ride) I enjoyed the magnificent views to the city and took in the spiritual nature of this Maori icon.

This park is huge, manicured and well cared for. Weekends are busy with walkers, bikers, runners, baby carriages and strollers. Well used by residents. There is a restaurant. And a hilltop memorial. Plus an outstanding view from the hilltop of the entire city. Don't miss it!

Being a free-standing conical peak, One Tree Hill offers fantastic views in all directions of the sprawling city of Auckland. It is quite a steep sided hill, and offers a strenuous walk up for those looking for a bit of exercise. For those with mobility restrictions, limited time, or lack of energy, there is a road to the top with... More

I have been to one tree hill a few times. The park is pretty with vast areas to walk and picnic. One the way to the monument at the summit there are toilets, a restaurant and a great ice-cream shop. The views are spectacular. Great for an afternoons outing.

You will lov e the views from one tree hill of Auckland 360 deg. And the park it is in is nice, it has sheep and cows that you can pat, great for children and safe to walk in, it is large.

I didn't do much but walk and walk and walk some more. The goal was to see a different perspective of Auckland. This walk was easy and in the distance from One Tree Hill you could see the Sky Tower and Mount Eden in the distance. It was just far enough to give you look at the area towards the... More

Go here and you get better views than from Sky Tower. We drove all the way to the top, but I believe it is possible to walk to the top form the streets below..

Drive to the small car park near the top if you don't want a gentle but steep walk up ( not suitable for the less able ) but the views over Auckland and the surrounding areas are spectacular .

awesome views of Auckland and its surrounds. Take a picnic because the park surrounding one tree hill is huge , lots to see and do. great for a bit of exercise if you want to walk/run up, otherwise you can still drive up at the moment

At the moment you can still drive to the top of One Tree Hill but that will soon stop. If you can manage it the walk up is the best route anyway. It is a steep climb though. It was windy today and at the peak it was very cold and blustery. There is no actual tree at the top of... More
