We felt that we were part of a conveyor belt of visitors rather than having enough time to engage with the host or understand the vineyards approach to wine. I think they were expecting a bus load of people so that probably had a bearing on our experience. We tasted 7 wines for 5 dollars and we felt that was... More

Its hard to believe how close you are to the Napier CBD but how far away from everything you feel when you visit Mission Estate. The drive up through the gum trees sets the scene for a wonderful trip back in time to a stately lifestyle. Everything looks well presented and styled in the main house. There are staff at... More

We had a group wine tasting here. I wanted to avoid it "because everyone else goes there," but it was well worth it. Beautiful setting. Good wines well presented. Great public rooms. Reasonable prices. Would return again and have a meal.

We had a structured tasting with six wines, and they were very good wines. This is an interesting winery because of it's relationship to the Catholic Church, as priests were involved in the wine production. There are many artifacts that are a reminder of the winery's history, including the presence of a chapel. The view over the valley area is... More

We called into Mission Estate on our bike ride from Napier. The outdoor seating area really appealed to us so we decided to stop for lunch and were not disappointed . The food was beautifully presented and delicious! The staff were friendly and infomative. A great experience and we will return later in the week to try more from the... More

We had family from the UK and wanted to take them somewhere picturesque, with outstanding service, amazing food to die for and lovely wine to share a toast and Mission Estate Winery delivered on all if these. Highly recommend a visit to all

Pretty good but the food doesn't live up the name. Went here for a Hens Do and it was lovely but I feel like this place has zero character anymore. The rosé is delicious though!

Enjoyed the wine varieties. Only place where we were charged $5 for tasting but got a souvenir glass

I've been here several times while I lived in Hawkes Bay for 4 years. This is the oldest wineray in NZ, and that status alone is worth the visit. I often bring my out of town friends here for wine tasting/lunch/dinner as part of my impromptu hawkes bay tour. Food here is pretty awesome, steak is a must try. My... More

My wife and I went to this superb restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. What a treat it was. The food was delishious both in presentation and taste as the attached pictures show. The service was impeccable. Of course we also tasted the winery's exquisite wines. PS: when we returned to our car we noticed that that I hadn't switched off... More
