Very impressed with the Kiwi enclosure but generally it is a good place to visit and worth the entry fee

Visited on a Sunday and expected it to be busy but it wasn't. Easy parking and easy to view exhibits.

We visited only a part of the aquarium as part of a tour party. We saw the kiwis and the blue penguins. The penguin enclosure was lovely, very bright and open with plenty of room for a number of people to see the penguins easily.

I visited the aquarium with my parents one weekday afternoon on a recent holiday to Napier. We timed our visit to include the penguin feedings at 1:30pm (10mins) & Shark feeding at 2pm (15mins), which I would recommend doing. I would recommend allowing 2.5-3hrs if...More

I had a great time at the Aquarium! A decently sized place, it took us a while to wander around. There were lots of interesting species to see. I enjoyed the friendly alligator who swam up to the corner of its enclosure to stare at...More

This is a great attraction with plenty of interesting fish such as Pirana and Shark's to view. Penguin enclosure is awesome with each bird having it's own story of how it ended up here. Also very impressive is the preserved Giant Squid and the Megladon...More

NZ National Aquarium - I don’t think so. One of the first tanks we came to had 2 large endangered eels - dead they would have been better off in their natural habitat at least they would have had a chance. The general well being...More

Came here on our first day in Napier, a nice and relaxing place to visit after a whole morning of traveling. One of the biggest surprises is that I got to see kiwi birds so closely which are just literally a piece of glass away....More

We felt this was good value for money, we caught the penguin and shark feeding which the kids still talk about. It has informative information, kids activities and the gift shop was reasonably priced the kids got to spend their pocket money on some momentos.

Hi, we had no problems with size, group ranging from 110kgs to 80kgs. Very accommodating instructor ensuring we were comfortable and well briefed. Take a camera for some great close ups of the sharks. Enjoy!
