This is a small aquarium but they seem to make the best out of their space and obviously love their animals. The aquarium has developed from a fish tank in a shoe store to the facility today, and it is still growing! A tour of...More

Only entered as part of a tour to see the rescue penquins and to see the kiwi but what we did see was great . Only cost a few dollars to gain entry to see everything and very easy for wheelchairs to use.

I did enjoy my time at the national aquarium. I was told before that it isn't a big place so I wasn't disappointed, since it is a bit small. It is still totally worth it. I spend quite some time there, watching the shark and...More

Maybe not quite as bad as some reviews suggest but definitely not worth the 21! dollars. Turtle Terry doesn't appear to be miserable so who knows, he might actually be fine. His tank actually is 12 mtrs. long and about 2.5 mtrs. wide. The rest...More

It's great to know that if you go to NZ, you'll see the national bird, live and in action. We enjoyed our time a the Aquarium (we weren't planning that, but on a rainy-ish morning, it was the thing to do). The aquarium is small...More

Visiting Napier for the second time on a cruise ship, we thought we would give the aquarium a 'go'. Although a little small (apparently going to be upgraded eventually) we found it very enjoyable. We were able to clearly see the 2 Kiwis and were...More

Hi, we had no problems with size, group ranging from 110kgs to 80kgs. Very accommodating instructor ensuring we were comfortable and well briefed. Take a camera for some great close ups of the sharks. Enjoy!
