Guided tour was great. Staff were so passionate and really took time to discuss everything. It was a highlight to learn more about Maori culture. You can wander as much as you like afterwards and the view up the top was beautiful. Definitely worth the time.

We spent some time wandering around the immaculate grounds , stunning expansive views out over the harbour, a magnificent example of a "whare" and the original colonial house and furnishings beautifully presented , we are returning to this area mid year and will return to the grounds as its well worth visiting again.

From the moment we stepped up to the entry door, we were made welcome by the enthusiastic and friendly staff. Make sure you purchase the all inclusive ticket for the guided tour and Maori show. They made our day and without these the exhibits in the museum would have been less interesting. Sensational property and exhibits and all without government... More

I found the treaty grounds very, very interesting and could definitely have spent more time here. Unfortunately, we arrived at 2 pm and the tour started at 3, leaving us only 1 hour to go through the museum. If you're going to the treaty grounds I would recommend you give yourself at least 2 hours just for the museum. It... More

The Waitangi Treaty Grounds are in a lovely location with great views of the surroundings and the museum was very informative - however it's perhaps slightly over-priced.

The guild we had was great and provided some great information about the local history including the town of Russell. The show we show at the grounds was great and the staff were more then happy to chat with you after it. All in all worth the couple of hours.

Unfortunately it was raining hard so I was unable to fully appreciate the grounds and view across the bay, nor a trip down to see the war canoe. However, in the short time I was there I was able to soak up the atmosphere and admire the carvings on the meeting house and go around the museum.

Expensive. Disappointing Art Gallery. Poor signage. Crafters in shop unfriendly. Perhaps being there just before the Waitangi day is the wrong time of the year to see the place.
