Great experience in seeing the many unique geothermal attractions especially Lady Knox Geyser. Thermal Wonderland is suitable for all ages including family groups and is a popular tourist attraction.

Compared to Yellowstone this might be somewhat disappointing, but still there are a lot of good photo opportunities if you walk all the trails (which will take you some 60 to 90 minutes). There are sections with steep steps but if you avoid these even...More

The geyser was an absolute waste of time, very underwhelming and not worth the rush to get there, moving the car, finding another park, sitting there for 30 minutes, listen to the blurb and watch it sputter for one minute, then driving back to the...More

We had been recommended to see this when we were in Rotorua, and as a site, it was impressive. Personally I found the experience way over priced for what it was worth. And Im sure if you are going to Rotorua, you will know this,...More

Really nice place to walk and discover interesting facts for the kids. Second time in the place, and it worth it.

This park is one of the reasons for I will never forget my trip to New Zealand. Amazing experience with different colored pools around the park due to different minerals and geothermal activity. Tens of photos in a 2h walk around a unique park. Certainly...More

Although the day was wet, it didn't stop us from enjoying the 4km (if you wanted to) walk along the information track. Trip on the boat was great and the bus back to the information was helpful.

Great experience. Make sure to arrive early for the 10.15 Lady Knox Geyser eruption as there is limited seats and space. Tour was informative and entertaining. Use bookme.com or the “Arrive magazine” for discounts. Very scenic and educational experience would highly recommend.

My friend and I really wanted to check this out and we ended up coming pretty late in the day. We had read that it would take 3 hours to see the whole park but we managed to see it all in 1.5 hours. It...More

There are family tickets but you need transport to get there from Rotarua - either hire car or taxi. There are 3 levels of walks from short with no steps to longer with several small climbs. There are no rails to prevent... More

Hey I don't think you will need to visit Wai-O-Tapu. If you want to go for a swim in a thermal, go to Kerosene Creek, it's free
