Lovely garden

Very lovely garden with picturesque back drop of the museum as a back drop. Marvelous as Kodak moment. Easy to get to.

Government gardens are very varied, but dominated by the beautiful building of Rotorua museum. The museum was closed for inspection due to an earthquake. Gardens full of flowers. Different trees. Large rose gardens. Nice place to walk.

A good place for a gentle stroll to view the pretty gardens. We were staying nearby and visited it a couple of times. We did try to get a coffee or cup of tea when we were there, but unfortunately both times we went the cafe at the Museum was closed, so can't comment on it. Once to be fair,... More

Spent 2 to 3 hours here. A very good museum. Lots of history and culture. The film show is worth doing and you get a very good view of the gardens from the rooftop. Plenty of parking around the gardens which is handy.

If you are in Rotorua you must drop by the Government Gardens and museum. There are free tours conducted every day at 11am and 2pm by very informative volunteers. The museums Elizabethan building has to be seen to be believed.

A nice garden but it was mobbed with tourist buses and to many people taking photos of themselves. This made it hard to enjoy or even walk around.

Manicured lawns and bowling greens, beautiful views of the museum, thermal pools and a lakeside area, plus the great smell of sulphur. What's not to like? A great place to stroll around on a sunny day. The flowers here are gorgeous when they are in bloom. Somehow flowers in Rotorua seem brighter than elsewhere.
