Well kept gardens

This is a huge area by the museum with plenty of well kept trees and flowers throughout. There is plenty to see here if you take a wander through. Peaceful.

Rotorua is an expensive town with all there is to do there, and this is free, so well worth doing. The gardens are beautiful and a nice contrast to the frantic pace of all the other activities in Rotorua. Definitely visit.

These gardens are lovely and well worth some of your time. Pretty much immaculate, eg very few weeds. Lots of block bedding planting making an impact but the mixed herbaceous bed behind the soldier's statue is particularly well planted.

The gardens are beautifully kept, delightful to stroll around & very interesting with a real colonial atmosphere. Sadly the museum was closed when we were there for assessment of damage caused by the earthquake. There were lovely flowers, hot pools & sculptures as well as the spa & swimming pools, so lots to see & do; definitely worth a visit.

Made a point of walking to the Government Gardens and Museum in the morning to explore. It's set in some very nice gardens, wonderfully kept flower beds with a superb lawn to its front which is home to the very active Rotorua Croquet Club. It's very quaint but great to see. The war memorials are also a 'Lest we forget'... More

Sadly the spa building is closed indefinitely due to subsidence risks. The gardens are typical of their period, formally laid out and well maintained.

The gardens are simply lovely and so well kept. A short stroll through them admiring the buildings and the sculptures is well doing. Very peaceful.

The museum is not open because of structural damage from an earthquake but that should not deter you from visiting the gardens. They are spectacular. Even though heavy rains pounded the gardens in the past several days the flowers were in full bloom and gorgeous. We also enjoyed watching lawn bowling which is a sport that we do not have... More

Were so impressed by the flowers in Rotorua, not only here in the gardens but all round the town. Disappointed that the museum was closed but rather safe than sorry.
