Rotoiti is our favourite lake in this district. There are lots of little bays towards the Okawa Bay end. We stayed at the VR Resort so it was nice to be able to get their boat across to the otherwise inaccessible hot pools. There is...More

We are lucky to have family who live at Lake Rotoiti and it is paradise on earth. Clear, clean water to swim in, forest covered mountains and old fashioned holiday houses dotting the edge of the lake. Every man and his boat is found fishing...More

A beautiful lake. Great for water skiing, wake boarding, swimming, paddle boarding etc. The hot pools are outstanding.

This Lake reminded me of the Coromandel, it is stunning and you can see a long way across the lake. The winding road is quaint and a delight to drive along. Just hard to keep your eyes on the road.

We were fortunate to enjoy a morning's cruise around the lake and to the thermal pools aboard an extremely well set up and sailed catamaran. Beautiful area!

So pretty. Green and lush surroundings. Beautiful quiet lake not too far from the main town centre. Peaceful and tranquil.

Freezing waters, but super clean - it was a very refreshing experience to swim in the lake on a roastingly hot day. There were hardly any people where we were, so we enjoyed piece and quiet and family time!

We spent some time here on Christmas Day, sitting under a tree watching the world go by. Nice to have some toilets available which were very clean and well stocked with paper. Lots of birdlife and beautiful trees.

We set out to do the loop track, a 1.5 hour walk. There a plenty of tui and bellbirds in the area so take your binos. The track was quite muddy in places and needed some careful footwork. Helpful orange markers followed the track so...More
