A place to walk to on the Coastal Walkway. Lots of seats to sit and watch the sea and the wand. Good in windy weather

A significant landmark with functional value. Every city needs a unique landmark and this is it. It could do with more explanation.

Visible from a long way off, this wand attracts your attention and reading about how and why it's there is even better.

Worth walking up to and watching it move. Walk there by going along under road bridge. I was there on a showery day not cold but quite windy with sea rough.

We walked from the Whalebone bridge along the coastal walk to the Wind Wand, had lunch, then back. Nice way to fill half a day. Fresh air, exercise and nice views.

This is located on the Coastal Walkway in the center of town so you will see it. Interesting idea and worth a look.

you go there (can't miss it), take your pictures, you're gone. I once took a time lapse and it was interesting to see how "active" the wand gets over larger periods of time. Apparently it was created by a very famous kinetic art artist from...More

Not sure of who came up with the idea for the wind wand but it’s a talking point , but still weird . Close to CBD.

Not sure what else to say on this one. Yes it looks like a wand (or wind lolly pop) and has become a bit of a cult tourist following. You can tick it off the list and move on. I hope no one comes to...More
