Sunset and sunrises best place to be is Back Beach New Plymouth. Great surfing and swimming at back beach for people who are confident in west coast beaches. Hint: camera , swimming gear, sunscreen summer, wet suit winter

This place is like a 'nightclub for dogs'. They meet their old friends and make new ones, and run around on the sand and in the sea, with joy apparent in every step. This is my favorite place to exercise my dogs. Apart from that,...More

Really enjoyed this beach on a beautiful day in mid April and the climb down the sand was well worth it getting back up not quite as much fun. There was a stair option as well for those who wanted to take the easy option.

This is such a non tourist beach. Lots of people surfing and playing in the sand dunes. Lovely place to walk.

This is a great beach to walk on during low tide. Spectacular rock formations and great view of the Sugarloaf islands. You will also find sand dunes near the parking lot.

We entered the beach by running down the massive sand dune from the car park - heaps of fun and wished we'd brought plastic sleds with us! Scenically it's beautiful - Sugarloaf islands just off the coast and the sea coming around them to create...More
