Having checked out of my accommodation, I was looking for somewhere to put my pack to allow a more unencumbered wander around town. Boom. The i-site, attached to Puke Ariki, the New Plymouth museum, was great! Free small lockers and $5 for big ones. Perfect!

Fantastic spaces with large open areas and culturally sensitive areas as well. Good local support with art exhibition and something for everyone (especially children) to see. A MUST see if you are in New Plymouth

Don't expect too much help here. The woman we copped obviously felt visitors were a nuisance. It was like extracting blood from a stone getting any information out of her. You are better of just getting your brochures off the shelves yourself and getting out...More

This is a great Museum. It is not big but the museum has an incredible collection of Maori cultural artifacts and some great information on the History of Mount Taranaki. Totally worth a visit.

Located on the seaside edge of New Plymouth City Centre, with parking available nearby. Usual brochures and maps, and helpful staff. Will book accommodation and trips for you.

The i-SITE is an obligatory early stop in any visit, and we found some good postcards, a useful map, a reasonable range of souvenirs ... but the verbal information wasn't so helpful or gracious, and the whole place had a bit of an empty feel.
