WONDERFUL WORLD OF BEES
Jan 2021
If you want to experience the wonderful world of bees the Huka Honey Hive in Taupo is the place to visit. Jill, the head beekeper, took a frame of honey in the Honey Shack, and everyone got to spin it in the extractor then poured their own jar of honey!
Beetufil experience.

I was interested in learning more about bees so I decided to go on the honey hive tour. Highly recommend, very insightful and you get to take home your own jar of honey that you extracted!

A new MUST DO experience in TAUPO
Dec 2020
We had a BUZZ with this fantastic tour. Truly unique experience to get up close and personal, and learned about all things bees.
Our 7 years-old girl can't stop talking about bees for few days even after the tour.
A little jar of freshly harvested to take home. :)
Don't forget to do the free honey tasting in their retail shop. Huge range of honey product available to purchase as gifts.

MUST DO!
Nov 2020
Just a wonderful experience, and so appealing to our group including three generations. LOVED the wonderful information we got from Jill, the amazing facility, and of course the experience of meeting the bees up close (and protected). Jill even followed up with a text message later with the answer to a curly question our curious 9 year old served up - incredible.

Good even if you despise honey
Oct 2020 • Couples
The big display of live bees was cool. I think my wife and I found the queen, who is larger and brighter than the other bees and jiggles her hind end a lot. Don’t worry if you’re like me and hate honey or are an inpatient husband because there are areas to sit and wait, and I even bought and wrote out a postcard to my nephew even though he’s still illiterate. Great place
if you’re a fan of medieval beverages because I’ve never seen so much mead in all my life. Also, there’s a helicopter nearby that looks like the Soviet ones shot down by the titular hero in Rambo III.
Good attraction, well themed and maintained.

A regular stop for us

We always stop in here, there's something new to discover each time. Today we had the very personable and knowledgable Michelle at the tasting table, who was so enthusiastic about female bees, was very empowering for our girls. Great ice creams too
