I spent an interesting hour here – popped in for coffee and was impressed by the magnificent glassware on sale – I decided to pay the $10 combined fee to view enchanting glass displays set in a small garden and what really interested me was an opportunity to watch a master glass maker at work – he gave a running... The variety and stunning array of works of art on show is amazing. The vibrancy of colour and sheer beauty of design is stunning. There was no glassblowing when we were there and sadly we had no time to walk the garden...maybe next time.

Having passed this gallery a couple of times we stopped out of curiosity to see what 'Lava Glass' was. Glass blowing is on the premises and the finished pieces are displayed in the gallery and are for sale. The colours are beautiful and the different designs reflect their titles e.g. the earth ones incorporate the colours of the land and... More

What a great place to spend a couple of hours! Pay the $15 to see the glass blowers in action - the day we were there the craftsman in the studio gave us a running commentary on what he was doing. The highlight though is the fabulous garden full of wonderful glass sculptures - a true delight. The cafe is... More

We visited the Lava Glass Gallery and were absolutely amazed! The works of art were beautiful and so unique. We watched the glass blowing and walked through the sculpture garden and were absolutely blown away. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

The sculptures in the garden are beautiful. The accompanying descriptions of how they were achieved are very informative. We did not pay as we bought a small piece (a very colorful toadstool) but it does not seem unreasonable to pay to view the garden if you do not buy anything. The sculptures are well worth the price of admission. The... More

We dropped in to see what the Gallery was all about. For $5 pp, we visited the studio, where one of the artisans was making "glass rocks". She was very instructive and made the presentation enjoyable and informative. The entry fee is deductible on any purchase which was very tempting. A must see if you are interested in original art,... Lovely lunch, reasonably priced, ideal for travellers visiting Glass Studio and Aratiatia Falls. Recommended by volunteers at Huka Falls a little further down the road as a great place to eat lunch or have coffee and delicious cake while waiting for the water release time at Aratiatia Dam opposite.
