Find out why 36 million New Zealanders can't be wrong. Okay, so there's a few tourists in there too. But that's how many passengers Interislander has carried over the Cook Strait since our first sailing in 1962.

Cruise from Wellington to Picton in the stunning Marlborough Sounds in just over three hours on the three largest Cook Strait ferries in New Zealand.

Extensive viewing decks, luxurious premium lounges and choice of cafes and bars. Plenty to keep the kids entertained - and plenty for mum and dad too.

Cars, motorhomes, coaches- all vehicles are welcome, just drive on, drive off. And for the rental car providers that can't cross, just drop off your car at the rental depots based at the terminals then walk onboard - easy!

Interislander's been doing this for over 50 years, so you know you are in good hands. And with eleven sailings per day, our timetable is bound to fit yours.

Don't just cross the Strait, cruise it with Interislander and make your perfect holiday, perfect from the very start.

All went as expected. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and friendly. Luggage check and retrieval was quick and easy. We booked the premium lounge. The service was freindly, the food was good and the lounge comfortable, I'm not sure that it was worth the price. We would probably pass on that if we were to take the ferry again.

As we arrived early we were able to take the previous ferry without any problems. The young lady at the check in was very pleasant and helpful. we were able to leave our big suitcases with her. Embarking was quick and well organised. As we had booked to be in the lounge as soon as we arrived on the ferry... More

Had a peaceful and quiet trip across Cook Strait on a sunny day. The weather was very good with a mild breeze. The trip was uneventful thankfully. We spent most of the time outside upstairs but moved inside half way across. The trip down Queen Charlotte Sound was great as the scenery is great.

Unfortunately we made the crossing in a weather bomb, but from the little we saw it was beautiful scenery. The crew were very helpful, food was excellent. Very comfortable crossing despite the weather. Did have a job to find a seat , so advice would be to arrive early.

As we had a toddler my views might be slightly different to other postings. We were lined up to get on the ferry and got whisked straight to the front of the line and boarded the ferry first which was great as we got first pick of seats and made a nice area so our infant could utilised floor space.... After years of crossing the channel, a bit surprised by needing to arrive an hour before departure. Boarding procedure easy. Being Feb service not packed so able to obtain seats easily which were very comfortable. No charge for wifi. Decent small bar area doing drinks and snacks (plus larger restaurant and bar which we did not use but looked OK).... More

We travelled as foot passengers between Wellington and Picton. (Left rental car at Wellington Ferry terminal and picked up another at Picton ferry terminal). Its easy to check in just like at an airport so your luggage is taken on-board for you. Foot passengers also seem to board before the cars, consequently foot passengers get te best pick of seats....
