I love visiting Aotea Lagoon, great place to do a walk around the lagoon for some exercise, they even have exercise machine/activites dotted around the place. I specially love the duck pond, and always bring some bread with me to feed the ducks. The kids love it! The Children's Playground is also great fun for all ages.. Lots of grass... More

Very nice. Had two Grandies with us so this was a great place for them to let off steam. Plenty of play equipment and running areas. Nice garden area. All in all an asset to the area

This place is beautiful especially in the evening in Summer. I always walk around the lagoon maybe do 6 laps and it's great how they have exercising machines around the lagoon walking track. Also they have a few areas for family BBQ's which is free to use and they have a massive playground for kids and a lovely and beautiful... More

I have always enjoyed Aotea Lagoon. The rose gardens are wonderful when they are in bloom. The walk around is great with exercise equipment to try out. The play area is fantastic for all aged children and is always well used. The toilets situated at both ends are clean and tidy.

We live not too far from the lagoon and on a great day, there is something for everyone at the lagoon. From walking or running or cycling or scootering around the lagoon, to the exercise areas or BBQ areas. From the kids playground (which is big and has lots of things to do) to the Rose Garden. Remote control boats... More

Aotea Lagoon is an artificial lagoon surrounded by a huge public park in Porirua. The park around the lagoon has a lot of walking and cycling tracks which would be a great activity at evenings.

I wouldn't drive out of my way to visit Aotea Lagoon but it is a popular spot for locals who like to walk or run laps around the sealed circuit. They have a children's playground, occasional miniature train rides, and a handful of BBQs for use. There is often a coffee cart located just outside one of the main entrances... More

A lagoon, play equipment and a train ride will keep the children entertained for hours. A fantastic place for a picnic or even a safe place for a run or walk. Not many things are free these days, but this is one of them.

This park has a lot to offer.. at the Northern end there is a grassed play and picnic area, then a very well fitted out children's play area, catering from pre-schoolers to about 12 years. There is a pretty gluggy duck pond which is the low point of the place... too much poo, A nice lagoon with a walking path... More

A lovely setting, with the public barbecues being a real bonus. Playground is amazing and heaps of tables and outdoor seating. A lovely walking track around the lagoon, well lit and safe. Rose garden is well worth a look and fern house as well. My granddaughter just loves looking for the fairies. Sometimes you may find a coffee cart parked... More
