A short walk from Shelly Bay Road up to Memorial offering fantastic views all across the harbour. Well worth the 10 minute walk. We combined it with a trip to Shelly Bay. Track up to the memorial is not wheelchair friendly and a little stony

Very grand memorial to William Massey and his wife. Built from white marble and quite large. The sign to the walkway to the memorial at the roadside is easy to miss. There is parking either side of the sign on both sides of the road. The path up to the memorial is about 250 meters long. Good views of Wellington... More

We walked up after dinner, was a fairly easy incline, lots of great views from the top. Took a few photos and others were having a picnic. Keen to go back.

The trail out to the memorial is a nice walk, and the memorial itself is very grand. There was a nice view of the harbor from the memorial. It was a pleasant time - nothing spectacular, though.

I went up there with my daughter and two Japanese homestays. It took about 20 minutes to walk there from the road and the marble memorial was fantastic. The trees were taller looking towards the city than in this photo and I remember not being able to see much (they may have been trimmed since).

Every Christmas eve day, we meet friends and neighbours at Massey Memorial. We've had good luck with the weather and it's such a perfect, quiet, contemplative place to gather with friends.

This attraction was easy to find and the Memorial was clean tidy and well cared for. The views are fantastic and the trees are kept down to ensure the views are mainatined. However, there is no information plaque detailling the deeds of Massey and his wife nor is there any information about the memorial itself which is a little disappointing.

Park on the road below on the shoreline, and take the bush track up. Easy gradient with glimpses of harbour views on the way. The memorial itself is impressive, gleaming white marble (very cold to sit on even on a sunny day!). We walked further up the track past the memorial to the top of the hill - this track... More

A short walk, a marble tomb, and a beautiful view across the harbour to the city and beyond. Even better now the Council keeps the trees down to keep sight lines.
