Nice animal park in the bush in Upper Hutt, about 45 mins. north of Wellington. Great for families. Has a nice cafe and facilities for a picnic. Even a bbq. A bit of an adventuresome drive to get there but it's fun.

Our kids both young and old love Staglands. We have visited several times and the interaction with the animals is a highlight for all. Planning to visit again soon. Well worth the windy road trip to get there - you will not be disappointed.

Staglands is a beautiful nature park that you can easily spend the best part of the day exploring. Our young kids loved it, especially feeding the animals, toasting marshmallows and the tractor ride. Also the little wagon on the train tracks was a big winner....More

Great outdoor excursion anytime of year. Staglands is a walk-around park where you can feed birds and animals as you go. Kids of all ages will love this. I'd caution those squeamish about animals or nature though - for many parts of the park there...More

We've been here quite a few times over the years. And last year we re-homed our beloved Red Earred slider turtle to Staglands. They have a lovely big pool and promised to look after him for us. He got much too big for us. Staglands...More
