Great for young children

Lots of animals to see and you can buy food to feed them. Not just for small children but interesting for adults as well. The cafe is large and the hot chips are pretty good.

Two friends and workmates from Manila. They did the Kiwi tour, cultural experience and meal. Had a blast and hospitality was fab!

I visited Willowbank with my two young cousins. We had a lot of fun feeding the eels, and exploring the trails through the park. Some of the park looked a little shabby, but I could see work was being done to upgrade it. I was impressed with the range of New Zealand wildlife on display, in lovely, naturalistic habitats. Seeing... More

We were not expecting such a complete New Zealand wildlife experience. The eels, the amazing number of bird species and animals were really interesting, all in beautifully landscaped surroundings. Highly recommended.

Nice place, worth a visit , nice day out to see kiwis etc recommend A bit awkward to get too with roadworks on April 2017. Maybe make sure of your plans prior to going, parking also a bit tricky, we went in Autumn and struggled a bit to park a campavan, so would go early. Overall enjoyable, not bad for... More

For a large family this afternoon and night out was fantastic ... well worth what we paid! The staff were fabulous and wonderfully friendly. The tours, show and dinner were beautifully intimate and engaging ... I HIGHLY recommend this to any family looking for a genuine and educational experience.

Was expecting some Eco hike around somewhere rugged, a la Dunedin. Instead Willowbank is set in a beautiful, tranquil garden setting with plentiful waterways for eels, ducks and other water birds. The whole centre is set out in sections with introduced, farming and native NZ critters. Many of the birds are tame and just come right up to you. We... More

Go straight to the kiwi house the rest is a bit run down and sad though you could see they were doing some upgrades. Worth a visit just to see a real kiwi

Paid lots of money to attend what we thought would be a traditional hangi but it was an absolute rip off. The show was very short and we didn't see the food cooking underground. We sat at a long table with everyone sitting on dirty chairs. We all felt awkward because our family had to sit with strangers. We also... More

On behalf of Ko Tāne Maori Experience - the mains are cooked in a hangi in the ground contrary to information you may have been given elsewhere. More
