Lovely little break just wandering around absorbing art. Handy cafe on site and plenty nearby. Free entry. Art inside and out.

As of our visit, South Island had not introduced tickets for non-Kiwis and this place is free. You will want to make a generous donation - it is so well run, and filled with stimulating and memorable (mostly) NZ art.

If you like abstract or modern art, you may enjoy this museum. Or if it's raining outside. I did not find any of the works to be particularly memorable.

Been to a few art centres before. We won't be recommending this one. Total waste of time really. Restaurant was lovely and had great food.

Take a mourning or afternoon to visit this place, I suggest a mourning start at 10 when they open, then if you cannot get to what you want you still have the afternoon. 1st people call it "Te Puna O Waiwhetu, free wi-fi.

Enjoyed a short visit to this modern and inviting gallery. Appreciated the older pieces and questioned some of the so called 'Contemporary' pieces. Overall, glad we visited! Free admission too!
