We spent about 2 interesting hours looking at the different exhibitions, on the ground floor we saw Stopped Short By Wounder Sculptures by Len Lye's, going upstairs to the Burdon Family Gallery we saw a The Burning Hour Collection by Kushana Bush and lots more.

They had some very interesting temporary exhibits along with the lovely permanent exhibits. I enjoyed it a great deal. They accept donations and have a charming gift shop, too.

We went to the gallery to see the Lye display and we weren't disappointed. We had only a short time there but all the staff members were knowledgeable and helpful. A must visit the next time I am in Christchurch

The outside of the building and visible atrium architecture is quite something. However it became quite ordinary once inside. Just hallways with galleries which were bland and lacked imagination. The Music in the Front Lobby was great and really lifted the experience.

I am not a gallery person, but I enjoyed the visit very much. An eclectic mix of everything, bright and cozy building, with all the facilities you need. The staff are friendly as well. A great rainy day activity. And it’s FREE!

There were a wonderful variety of galleries to wander through. The Len Lye exhibit was interesting, make sure to have time to see all of the pieces in action! Entry was free, with optional donations.
