A real gem of a museum with some nostalgic and interesting vehicles. Plenty to see close up. Some vehicles are in need of some tlc. Others are in excellent condition. Definitely worth a visit. There is a nice 60's style cafe on site with good coffee.

I haven't been for a long time - put off by the price but may have changed by now and I intend going again before too long, even if only to compare it with other motor museums around NZ. From memory, this one fares well.

Definitely a place that will appeal to the " men in sheds " type. The $20 adult entry fee may put some people off going there, but the fee is needed to keep the place in business. On one of approaches to Christchurch airport making to place good for aircraft spotting as well.

What a collection! Lots of transport related stuff, but also an entire print shop and a fire station. Great coffee at the retro cafe too.

A small museum close to the airport, filled with cars, carriages & even computers, showing the beauty of engineering from a bygone age. I was lucky enough to join a tour with the visiting Alfa Club. The new manager is a mine of information about the exhibits and the history.

This is quite unique and very quirky. It's chock full of all sorts of cool stuff mostly pertaining to transport - all in varying states of repair. It's a real treasure trove and a Boy's Own dream with sheds at every turn! It's a bit out of the way so you'd need your own transport - any style - to... More

So much cool stuff, amazing collections of different things. Definitely worth a visit. Not only transport items but also a shed crammed with old printing presses and type.

So much to see. Takes you back in time with some of the exhibits. To see one man's obsession was fantastic. Well worth a visit if only for nostalgia. Spent a couple of hours looking around. Well worth a visit. Would spend a lot more on a coffee and subway

I didn't find it to interesting. In a lot of ways, it was really just a bunch of old sheds with old stuff in it - some of which had some labels and a few sentences. I didn't find it to be much different than what my uncles old farm would have been like if he tidied up the place... More

It was a rainy day in Christchurch and I remembered passing by the sign on SH 73 just outside of Christchurch indicating there was a transportation museum located in Yaldhurst. I was surprised at the number of vintage cars, buggies, fire fighting equipment, printing presses, etc that was packed into this museum. The grounds were beautiful and most of the... More
