Took the grandchildren here recently and parked the car by the wharf that is closed due to earthquake damage but had a fantastic walk along the track that follows the coast around the bay. Really fun walk and the kids just loved it discovering things along the way. It was a free activity that was a really nice family outing.

Our homestay was part of a small suburb a few km out of Christchurch. The surrounding hills and the Bay itself present us with some rather spectacular views to die for! We took many many photos of the Bay and the hills that surrounds.

It is quite far from city center and need a car to visit the place. Not much is happening other than a good view.

Not much here, but worth including when exploring the Lyttleton area and Port Hills. Very pretty bay with a nice pub.

Enjoyed a drink at the hotel. The experience would have been better if the staff (or owners) hadn't arrived with bags of groceries and used the lounge bar as their entrance!!

It was cool when the pier was open but the quakes closed it so best to grab a hot choc at SHE or a cold one at the pub across the road and go for a walk.
