This is a great visual reminder that nature has the last say. No matter how glorious a building is, nature can in minutes bring it down to it's knees. This is a stark reminder we can be knocked down but with determination can once again...More

We had heard stories of the devastation from the earthquakes in 2010-11, and this site brought it all in to focus. The sadness I felt was replaced by the knowledge that it would be rebuilt.

Saw the devastated building from outside the fence. Good reminder to treasure life and not take it for granted. Happened to chance upon Diwali fair beside the church. Added some positive notes to the down atmosphere.

It was humbling to see this post-earthquake. The cathedral is quite a sight to behold and must have been amazing to look at before it was damaged. I hope they restore it.

Christchurch Cathedral has always been the icon for Christchurch - it is a huge pity that the decision to repair this incredible building has taken so many years and has not yet started. A great pity indeed.

Although it suffered major damage. A visit to Cathedral Square is a must. In the area are a few food trucks and a eating area. We had a nice lunch at the Japanese food truck. Very near to the city, walking and seeing the shops...More

You would have to park and walk as there is no through-traffic. Pedestrian area really.
