Ngaio Marsh's house in Cashmere is facsinating for a several reasons. It was built in the early 1900's for Ngaio Marsh's parents by Samuel Hears Seagar, a very well regarded and talented architect of domestic and civic buidlings in Christchurch. For this and for most...More

Ngaio Marsh's family home in Cashmere where she lived and wrote was designed by Samuel Hurst Seager, and is set in a mature Edwardian garden. Ngaio lived there from 1906 until her death in 1982, apart from times when she was in England. The house...More

Unlike some house museums where the famous person only lived there fleetingly, Ngaio Marsh really did spend much of her childhood and adult life in this modest early 20th century house. Ngaio Marsh's parents built the house when Ngaio was a child, and Ngaio inherited...More
