Worth it for the views and of course the achievement

The world's Steepest Street allegedly. Quite a climb and very steep in parts. Only do it if you don't have knee problems as coming down puts quite a strain on your knees !

Just out of town but worth a visit. It was a warm day so we took our time going up but it's one to tick off the bucket list without being too extreme.

As we were staying in Dunedin CBD, we got to Baldwin St on the number 9 bus from Princes St. One way trip was approx $3.60. The bus dropped us off at the bottom of the hill. It was surreal to such a steep street. There are steps which make it easier to walk up. Well worth a visit

If you want to say you've been up the world's steepest street, give it a go, but it is a long pull up. The view from the top is worth it and it is good fun.

Fun place to visit and walk up the very steep street. The locals obviously enjoy the novelty, a few houses now sell drinks to visitors, good photo opportunity to get out outside and see Dunedin. This is the place they race Jaffas down the hill.

You can't just park at the bottom of the hill and look up. You have to get out of the car / bus and walk.... yes, walk all the way to the top. That is, if you are barking mad like me! Despite the daunting angle of the road, the walk is relatively easy up a set of steps at... More

Went here as part of a tour, the walk isn't that far but it is hard. Best to walk up using the steps, much easier than the road. Walking down, road or steps. Look out for a guy in fluro, he might be Dave Kernahan who holds the record for the most trips up and down. He has been quoted... More

Will totally take your breath away (epecially if you are unfit like me) It is odd as it doesnt really look that steep but it really is. Feels like your falling a bit walking down again

Go for it !! Get Bus no. 9 from the Octagon in Dunedin. $3.40 local bus trip. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at Baldwin Street. The bus drivers are very helpful and I am sure they will be happy to oblige. There is a litttle public toilet near the bus stop if you want to go before... More
