Stop on city tour

We went here on a city tour and was pleased to see this well known spot. Unfortunately couldn't walk the whole way up but others did.

The whole visit took less than an hour to climb up, down and get our own customised Cert that we have visited this street. The Baldwin Street Certificate is located near the bottom of the street (there is a signage). You can choose what colour you want and your name will be written on the cert.

Rode our bikes there from the city. Cool place, worth a visit while in Dunedin. Also a very nice lady selling ice cream at the start of the hill.

As stated in other reviews 'it is what it is' - an ordinary street that happens to be steep with good views from the top. Having lots of grandsons ourselves we could see the value in families doing this together, a healthy and satisfying holiday activity!

A must see if in the area as it is the steepest Street in the world. The walk up is punishing. It's fun to watch the children run up while the adults rest on a regular basis, amused at the energy displayed by the young. Once at the top, the views of the area are lovely and the steepness of... Very busy spot, some go all the way, so go half way, some drive up, when you get to the top there a seat to take it all in

Yes it's a steep street. We enjoyed walking up and down it; mused about the speed of jaffas rolling down... It is really just steep street. It would get great to watch "nutters-with-nothing-better-to-do" try to run fast-as-they-can up and down. It would be fun-er to see thousands of jaffas roll down and bet on something that can't be fixed, but... More

Dear Madam/Sir, RE: The Baldwin street is known for its steepest liveable location in the world. Reaching the top of the street is worth the climb and is quite doable. A certificate for climbing the street could be obtained from the cafe shop. Thank You

I am terrified of heights but I had to see this street at least once. It is very steep. It probably should not be legal to drive on, but I did see several brave souls doing just that. It's a spectacle but I do not feel the need to ever go back.

It's just that. A very steep street. And quite short. There's apparently always heaps of tourists there, so it's very hard to get a picture without anyone else on it. On the top of it is a nice bench and wall with some history about the street on it. It's kinda like the steep and winding Street in San Francisco.... More
