This is E. Hayes ans sons Hardware store also known as Hammer Hardware. It is where the famous Indian motorbike is kept. The display of old bikes and things from the past is well and truly worth seeing. The movie " The Fastest Indian" starred Anthony Hopkins.

My 81 year old Uncle has been shopping here for decades whether for a new washer for a tap, a brand new lathe or shopping for a wedding gift. Still pays cash and everyone in the store knows him. He introduced me (his 50 year old niece) to the store last year... I was expecting to be rather bored while... More

Even if you've never heard of Bert Monroe and his amazing achievements, you owe to yourself to visit what is essentially a shrine to Bert. But wait, there's more this is a very old and successful hardware store. No matter which entrance you choose, you realize it's different. Where else would you find a 1910 Buick next to a rack of... Came to visit the World's Fastest Indian with my husband and was impressed with the motorcycle, cars and a little bit of everything else. Ladies don't worry, you'll have lots to look at! Best part was seeing how excited my husband was about seeing everything.

Hidden in the depths of E Hayes & Sons (hardware store) sits the world famous Indian. Riden to its glory by the now late Burt Monroe. What a typical southern bloke environment to find something of such international glory. Stroll through the lawnmowers, paint tins and wheelbarrows as you look at the collection of motor bikes and cars.
