The water tower is not accessible but it is still a good spot to take photos from the outside. It is located near the Queen's Park.

Unfortunately the building can no longer be accessed by the public, however the building makes for an attractive sunrise or sunset image. Very unique water tower, but is in need of some exterior maintenance to bring it back to its former glory. Located just a few blocks from the city centre, you could make the walk down or a few... While you can no longer climb up inside, you can get a fantastic view from driving along Dee Street and turning into Leet Street, headed East. You get a great far away view and almost right up to the Water Tower itself. Still a remarakabke piece of history.

The Invercargill Water Tower provides visitors with a good land mark with which to reference their travels around the flat cityscape.

If anything, now closed to the public so only good for a look and for a photo opportunity but well worth the little drive from the centre of town to view this old water tower closed due to earthquake concerns. I would suggest a visit to Queens park at the same time as it is very close by.

Ten minutes up the road from our Motel we decided to go and view the tower. Unfortunately you cannot go up it because of earthquake fears. Not everyone's choice to take time to visit.

This is an iconic building in Invercargill and if nothing else, must be photographe3d. Unfortunately it is no longer accessible due to concerns over earthquake damage but nevertheless is worth a look in my opinion

The Water tower is supposed to be a main attraction but it might be difficult to find. It is very close to the Queens park and both things could e done at the same time. However it is closed to the public due to risk of earthquakes.

Walking past all you need to do is look up at it, enjoy the brick work, take a photo or two and move on. It's impressive and you cant go inside it anymore as far as I'm aware however there are better water towers out there.

Invercargill is flat, so you can see the Water Tower from all parts of the city nearly. Beautiful old building. Another example of the founders thinking the city was going to be bigger than it is. Supposedly you aren't able to go to the top anymore due to earthquake concerns, even though the Invercargill area is one of the least... More
