Hume dam was built in the mid 1900's as a key part of the Murray river irrigation program. The dam is located about 20km east of Albury and well worth a visit. There are cafes, BBQ and picnic areas offering plenty of shade in summer located near the dam wall. I visited early November the dam was full to capacity... More

This was a lovely place to picnic. The grounds were well maintained - a credit to whoever does them! The view is beautiful and there are shady trees for sunny days!

Stayed at the caravan park and had coffees and fish and chips from the cafe. Great service from staff who are proud of what they are doing. Godd value cafe meals served quickly and very tasty. Loved the flathead tails and chips.

Not only do you get great views, but there are plenty of spots to go walking and bike riding. Plenty of nice spots to set up a picnic. You can even go down and per into the working of the turbines.

East drive from Albury, good views of catchment, great walking across spillway, accessible parking. Worth going onto old Bethanga town.

Visited here while i was on business in the Albury area. Absolutely stunning place. Lots of tables and grassed area for picnics. Also a walk on the edge of the lake overlooking the water. Lots of birds and an easy drive from Albury. Worth the visit.

We joined some extended family and we're lucky enough to have access to a boat. Kids played happily all day kids and the big kids driving & spotting in the boat. Picnic facilities, shady trees and beautiful soft country hills as a back drop.
