Took buggy as its to long to walk round Very clean Staff gave talks on the animals which was very interesting pity some of the cafes were closed when we were there . But they had vendor machines where you could purchase water etc which we needed as it was very hot

Loved Dubbo Zoo how it is so spread out and big. The animals didn't all look caged in. It felt like you could have almost been in Africa.

We loved our recent visit to the Zoo! The ability to drive around and park close to each exhibit was a huge bonus. We also did the zoofari with behind the scenes which was excellent and very informative. The bike riding is a good concept but there was a large group of school children on the day we were there,... It's good if you want to see plains animals in open spaces. Hired a golf buggy but it's only for 3 hours, not enough time to really see and appreciate everything.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience. Whilst the carts are hired out for three hours at a time your entry to the Zoo is valid for two days. If possible, it can be a good idea to mix up the days with walking, driving or bike riding as well. We are glad that you... More

Zoo's do serve a great service to the study of animals but there is nothing more disheartening than seeing any wild animal pacing a cage or so bored they look almost stuffed. This is where the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo is different. After being to various parts of Africa over 4 trips and seeing the natural environment I would think... More

This is actually quite a great encounter to do, give yourself plenty of time to get to the Zoo front desk - they say to be there 9:45 am, try and get there earlier. The reason why is when we went there was a small queue to get in, once you're served you have to pay the admission fee, then... More

We hired a golf buggy. It was a great way to get around. Car or bikes looked like good fun to. Plenty of other activities for kids too.

Very well set out, programme of talks and feedings are well organised to allow customers to follow a forward journey without backtracking. All the keepers are very passionate about the animals and it shows in the way they give their talks. It is not for young children who would be better at Taronga Sydney, where there is a bigger variety... More

Excellent zoo. You can get right up close to animals that look like they are in natural surroundings. Well worth the journey from the coast to see.
