Our group only had a short visit to Merewether Beach but we were certainly able to see just how popular this location is. A number of visitors and locals about enjoying the water and beach. A very nice beach to see.

We walked from Hamilton South in Newcastle where we were staying to Bar Beach and then to Mereweather Beach. What a fabulous walk with the pleasure of coffee or a beer at the end when you get to the Surf Life Saving Club.

I walked my dog from Merewether to the end of Bar beach. There were nice wide footpaths the length of both beaches which made for a beautiful evenings walk. There were many other dog walkers and the path was well lit, so it felt safe being there on my own walking the dog.

This is such a lovely beach which caters for everyone, the pool area is excellent for just lolling around, the surf is good and the rockpool area is fantastic for people of all ages to explore. The parking can be tricky especially the narrow area above the surf club. It is challenging when someone is trying to reverse out and... More
